What’s the point of making the CG match what the cartoon looked like, when they could have just kept it animated? Seems like a pointless use of CG. They could’ve made it much more realistic if they wanted to.
So, continuity-wise, is this a remake of the cartoon series, or a sequel, or what? It seems to be set in the same time frame, with that alien sith still alive and Grevious’s lack of coughing fits.
Let’s hope that this version has Grevious still being a total ninja badass and tactical genius instead of the “coward” that Ep3 declares him.
Not sure what stories they can tell in this period though that don’t already have all the suspense and surprise taken out of them. Every single character featured in the preview pretty much cannot have much happen to them: we already have canon on most of their lives. So all we can get in this series is a bunch of indecisive battles that end with various people backing off waiting for the final confrontations in other media. Ventress, Dooku, Anakin, Obi Wan, Grevious: we already know what happens to all of them, and nothing significant can happen to alter them much at all in a canon series at this point.
What would be much more exciting would be a non-canon alternate history where like, cool stuff happens instead of the ridiculous nonsense that is canon.
It seems to me that it has to be a remake, if they’re using the same characters, some of whom we know their whole story during the original animated series.
The comics continue her story and basically tell us everything there is to know. Of course, that’s not “super-duper ultra canon” and of course, one thing this series could do is basically cover some of the comics stories, which actually mesh up with the previous animated series (taking place mostly in between seasons 1 and 2 of the animated Clone Wars).
