Clone Wars, Season Two.

Well, it’s over. Ep3 is now set up, ready to go. Will it be half as good as Clone Wars was?

You can watch the whole thing online for free, though with the poor framerate, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Plot discussions? Questions? Ep3 speculations?

Two things I am immensely disappointed to hear are that Grevious is not as tall nor as “unorthodox” in his moves in the movies as he was in Clone Wars (his design in the movies doesn’t look anywhere near as impressive or scary). He is a stunningly designed and executed character in CW, with some of the best fighting we’ve ever seen in the SW universe. I’m also sad to hear that the power of Jedi like Mace Windu in CW is not really as intense in the movies. It seems like animation can still do things better than CGI can when it comes to over-the-top action.

I definately have some questions:

-when did the Qui-Gon/Anni scene take place, exactly? Was that Degobah, and when did they go there while QG was still alive? Was this QG trying to train Anni before he even got approval from the Council? And what happened in the tree? Did a bee sting QG’s nose?

-Does Sidious ever brush his teeth? Ugh!

-Was the Jedi initiation ceremony adapted from a frat pledge ceremony?

-What the heck happened to the Clone Troopers since these prequels to make them into the slow-witted numbskulls of Ep4-6?

I love this. The first series were just nice to look at, brief action snippets. These have enough time to actually show the characters. The Anakin here is MUCH better than the one in Attack of the Clowns. You actually get to see the man that Obi-Wan called “a good friend” and someone that Amadalla could fall in love with. This character, it would be a tragedy to see fall to the dark side. The fight sequences are also very good!

In short; Gendy rules, Lucas drools!

My favorite part:

As the three Jedi are trying to rescue Palpatine and are waiting for the elevator:

They press the button, then turn around to face Greivous should he come. They wait a few seconds, nothing happens. Them the hammerhead alien jedi quickly pushes the elevator call button a few more times.

Ooh, that was the best space battle I’ve ever seen. Not the fighting parts but the setup. That is, there were ships everywhere. That’s how you defend a planet, from all directions and all at once. I would have loved to see that in better detail.

Did it seem to anyone else that a little inspration for C-3PO here came from the animated bit in the Holiday Special? He just didn’t seem to fit in too well.

What happened to the green Jedi? She was cute.

I loved that Mace got to Grevious at the end. It got me out of my seat. I would love to see Genndy animate a fight between him and D. Sidious.

You know what would have been cool? At least to me. If those mutant guys with the teeth, after watching Anakin destroy the bad guys, started chanting “Blah blah Vader!” And we could have all gone “Oh, that’s where it came from.”

We are apparently going to find out what “Vader” is from in Ep3.

What green jedi?

Oh well, I’ve been ignoring everything about the movie to go in fresh. It was a good spot to bring it up though.

In the first series Yoda goes and saves two green Jedi. I liked the spots on the padawan. I see her name is Barris Offee.

What happened to her? I’m sure she got killed like swine. Like all Jedi!

Are the episodes available for download anywhere? The streaming feed is kinda choppy and grainy and small. I have the first season, but the site that hosted them seems to be gone.

Me too! But mainly because the site kindly informed me:

Looks like I’ll have to turn into a criminal and see if they’re on the P2P networks, :sigh:.

Well, they have better streaming on starwars.com at least.

It seemed a little inconsistent what Yoda could do with spaceships Windu could not. Is Yoda really that much more powerful than Mace?

At Sturmhauke’s link, you don’t need to be in the US to download it.

Plus, if you check out the pop-up’s source (not sure of how to do it in IE, I use Opera), you can download the movies directly. Unfortunately, you’re still stuck at 320x178 though.

Oh, and if you do directly download, you need only change the number in the URL, because they’re all stored in the directory.

And yes, it’s within their terms of use:

So there’s no need to resort to criminal action.
