Has there been no thread discussing this “micro series” ?
I missed the first two episodes, but have seen the rest. Basically “Samurai Jack does Star Wars”
Visually they are great, good action scenes, nice rendering of characters. Not easy do do much character development or storytelling in three minute segments, so those elements are lacking. Overall while they are fun so far, I find myself wishing that this had been a half hour series rather than a essentially commercial breaks.
Perhaps George "the god of suckatude" Lucas was afraid that they would be better than the movie he is trying to promote by doing these. Perhap he just hates fans and enjoys teasing us by showing us something potentially good.
No I don't have High Hopes for episode III.
I’ve seen all but the first installment of the “micro-series,” and I’ve been enjoying it thus far. Tartakovsky is making the right choice, I think, in focusing on action sequences rather than characters. I, for one, don’t expect much in the way of rounded characters from the Star Wars franchise, so lots of good action works just fine for me. And so far, this is delivering. Nice animation style, too.
One of the hosts of “Cartoon Fridays” on Cartoon Network last night implied that they might be showing all 10 episodes in a row, from beginning to end, next Friday night. I hope they do, it’d be nice to see it with minimal interruption.
All episodes are posted after their debut at the official Clone Wars site. Enter and click on the “light side” characters to find the chapter archive (with optional production commentary – Woo Hoo!).
All I can say is that whoever’s doing the voice for Obi-Wan sounds so much like Ewan McGregor it’s scary!
I was noticing that his voice was a pretty good match, too, but the voice they got for Anakin sort of sucks (though he captures the whiny tone nicely, if that’s what they’re going for), and Yoda’s voice sounds more like a kid going through puberty at times.
All the better that they’re keeping the episodes low on dialogue (which annoys my daughter to no end, but I like it).
