Mom was taken to the hospital, vomiting blood.

Mom was vomiting blood.

She threw up more than a quart of blood.

Nobody knew she has an ulcer. The anti-clotting drug she got during the heart surgery must have started it bleeding.

They took her in an ambulance.

With all this pain in our lives, what next?

Surely, things are bound to improve and skies will clear up. Hang in there.

You are having such an awful year so far! All the best to your mom, yourself and the rest of your family.

Wow, not good. I hope all turns out well. And I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they gave her medications that caused her ulcer bleed; same thing happened to Papa Tiger last year.

Oh Bosda. You must be at your wits end. Know that we are pulling for you and your mom.

I hope this sounds as encouraging as I mean it to sound - I’m just glad that she was taken to the hospital before the problem got too out of control. Now they have a chance to help. I wish you and your family the best.

Geez Bosda! That sucks. I’ve never been worth a damn at showing sympathy. Never have the right words, and don’t now. But you have my sympathy.
I hope this is the last of your bad fortune and everything gets better for you and yours soon.

Bosda, is there anything we can do to help?

Hang in there! This happened to me a couple of years ago. If this is the same thing she will be in IC for a couple of days
and get a visit from a gastroenterologist who’ll cauterize the ulcer.
Then the doc will probably want her to move to a regular hospital room for a couple of days for observation.
While the healing is taking place she will probably have to put up with the “clear” diet.

I am so sorry, Bosda. Has her condition improved yet? :frowning:

The meds to prevent blood clots in the heart have aggravated the bleeding.

She’s getting blood & IV fluids, & things are under control.

Course of treatment–wait & see. Gonna try to treat with meds, I guess.

She ordered me out of her room, because she didn’t want company.

My hands are shaking, & I feel weak.

I hope none of you ever see your mother vomiting blood.

Oooh! Crankiness is always a good sign.

Glad your mom is doing better, buddy.

My mom, in her 80s, went through a couple of episodes like that last fall. It was terribly scary, and she had to spend time in the hospital, but she did bounce back and is still with us. Here’s hoping it will be that way for you, too!

And don’t forget to take care of yourself, too, Bosda – you need rest and sustenance to help you beat that abscess.

Oh my.

You know that we are all thinking of you and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom.

There’s not much else to say. I’d tell you to take it easy, but I know that under the circumstances it’s probably difficult to do. My prayers are with the doctors (that they’ll be inspired to always do the best thing) and with your mom (for her comfort and good health).

Keep us posted. Rest assured, many “positive vibes” are directed towards you and your mom.

good heavens bosda, i can’t imagine…

y’all will be in my prayers.

Sorry you and your Mom are going through such hard times, but thank god you were around for help/support. Tell her to get well soon!!

This happened to one of my friends about 10 years ago, and luckily for him, the vomiting blood happened as his ex’s house, as he had stopped by to pick up his son and daughter. If he had been alone in his apartment, who knows how that might have turned out. It was very traumatic for them all, but he recovered very quickly in the hospital and has been fine ever since.

I am sending good vibes to your mom and your family.

The ‘wait and see’ just sucks, don’t it?

That’s really terrible, Bosda- I hope she’s feeling better soon. How scary.

Bosda , I’m so sorry to hear this. Please make sure you don’t neglect yourself worrying about your Mom & get yourself sick again.
{{{hug}}} for you - try not to worry.

No news.
