What has been your most successful thread on the SDMB?
You can define “most successful” any way you like, but given that most of us hate to see our posts sink out of view like bricks in deep ocean water, I think there’s a probable consensus that a really successful thread has to at least make it to the second page, let alone get out of single digits.
I think of this because I’ve started, oh, maybe a dozen threads in the year and a half since I registered, and in all that time none of them has really taken off. Oh, sure, some of them have done okay, like this one, but no moon rockets, know what I mean?
And then my wife, whom I love dearly, joins up, and with her very first thread is threatening to reach the third page. No, really, check it out. Not that I’m competitive or anything, but man…
So what do you consider your best effort? Your most successful thread? Whether longest-lived, most responses, highest ratio of quality to quantity, whatever?
And, as a natural corollary, feel free to reference your orphaned children, the threads that you feel unfairly submarined into the blackness, that you were looking forward to sharing and seeing hundreds of people contribute to, but that spiraled unceremoniously into the inky void. I feel your pain.
