Whose Username do you wish you had thought of first?

There are so many clever ones to pick from. Some of my own favorites: Shirley Ujest, Hugh Jass, Patty O’Furniture, and maybe 50 others.

I tried logging on as “One Person” back in the mists of antiquity only to find it already in use.

Many of the folks I came to know and love have changed their names and I’m not sure who is who now.

Have you thought of using your IRL name? Ever?

As you can tell, this is a general “What’s in a Name?” thread. Add whatever spin on the basic idea that appeals to you or has been bugging you.

I like the name “Typo Negative”.

I’m afraid I haven’t paid enough attention to know if I like the actual person.

I have gotten the username “Dave’s Not Here Man” (altered slightly depending on the websites username limits and whatnot) a couple times before… but after many failed attempts due to it already being in use on many sites, I have pretty much given up on securing it as mine.

Not particularly fond of my username here… I only made it to ask you fine folks one question, but alas, I think I’m here to stay with my (IMO) not-so-great username.

I think Typo Knig is a pretty funny user name

I just noticed your name a few minutes ago in another thread, and think it’s interesting (in a good way). It may not roll off the tongue, but it’s not bad at all.
I have spoken.

I do too, although it always makes me mentally misquote Blazing Saddles:

“Can’t you see that man’s a knig?”

So that’s how that’s spelled!

I knew someone whose online id was 'Tit Queen". I asked her why and she said, " Cuz I always get the booby prize".

Thanks ^^. For me, username jealousy happens rather frequently… even if while creating a username I’m all like “THIS IS THE GREATEST USERNAME EVER I’M SUCH A GENIUS!”, then upon entering whatever site and seeing one of the first five other usernames there, my thoughts change to “wow, I hate my username and I’m so dumb for thinking of it”. Just me over-thinking things as usual, I suppose.

Czarcasm, hands down.

I liked it so much I used it in a book (though I changed it to Tsarcasm)

I doubt I would have used it had I thought of it first because I am too used to being Wile E, but I have always admired Candid Gamera’s name.

I don’t envy it, but I think Athena hit the jackpot with her name. Almost as good as my friend who managed to get wolverine@aol.com way back when.

My all-time favourite wish-I-had-thought-of-it-first username here is Cartooniverse.

Og Trans Fat.

Lobot.
I am big time envious of his username.
:stuck_out_tongue:

If it makes you feel better, you can think of it as a play on both a Pink Floyd song (Goodbye Cruel World) and the first program most people learn when they start programming [computers] in a new language (Hello World).

For me, I’d think of the former first. Hello Kind World seems like the exact opposite of Goodbye Cruel World.

It also seems crazily optimistic. I’m guessing HelloKindWorld is a young person. I’d say give it a few years, and then we’ll see a username change to ScrewThisStupidPlace.

The phrase “goodbye cruel world” predates the song, but I haven’t been able to dig up its origins. It’s common enough, though, that I assume it’s what HelloKindWorld had in mind. The “Hello world” connection is interesting, though.

Agreed. I thought it was obvious. I’ve been aware of the phrase/expression since I was an idiot child in the 50’s and I’m pretty sure it already quite old at that time.

Well it’s even predated as a song. It was the title of a James Darren hit in 1961. It also charted in Argentina as Adios Mundo Cruel for Enrique Guzman.
