01/02/04 is Groundhog’s Day.
Hooray.
On this least important of American semi-holidays, I must ask each and every one of you Dopers—
Have you hugged your Groundhog today?
And, if you have , did you tell it you love it?
And, if you told it you love it, have you kissed it?
And…
if you kissed it…
did you give tongue?
Detailed answers only please!
Hugged - check.
Kissed - no.
Tongue - check.
Figure that one out.
02/02/04 is Groundhog Day… time to put on my groundhog suit.

Oh, right, we’re supposed to get blown up Monday . . . Back to shredding my diaries . .
I ate my ground hog this morning.
By that, I mean I had sausage links with breakfast.
Ground hog - sausage - get it?
Weird, I just had an online conversation with a friend last night on the topic of sex with Janet Reno involving one of those. You really don’t want to know the context. Actually, now that I think of it, there wasn’t really any context.

Was that ground hog meat, or groundhog meat?
Because ground hog meat is taxed, but groundhog meat isn’t.
And where ever you are in the USA, you’re also in the the heart of Tax-es.
“No” to all the questions. But then, I’m not American!
Personally, I just love groundhogs and think they’re cute & funny as the dickens. But I have friends whose gardens have been utterly ravaged by groundhogs. It seems that you can love your groundhogs or love your lawn and garden, but not both.
It’s also Presentation of Our Lord day!
Yeah, I have no groundhogs to speak of.

I did not. On account there are no groundhogs here.
I’d like to hug, kiss and tongue Bill Murray, though.
It’s also the 31st anniversary of the Straight Dope.
And the 29th anniversary of Happy.
Are you saying–that the Celestial Master Cecil Adams —is really—a Groundhog!?!?

Groundhog day, hmmmm. I think when I get home I’ll ask my husband to be my personal groundhog for the evening.
“Predict something, honey!” Ah, the perks of being a newlywed.
And I wish Happy Lendervedder and the Straight Dope a very happy birthday!
