Just thought I’d let all of you who live in these regions know that the mail will not arrive tomorrow due to extreme weather conditions.
I live in the affected region, and think it’s a very good idea.

I live in West Michigan, and I felt so sorry for my rural carrier today. And the shittiest part is that the only thing he delivered to us was a coupon postcard, an ad for a local furniture store and a credit card solicitation. I wish they’d cancel service for our area too.
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. "
But apparently cold does.
Here in the St Louis area the news announced there might be no delivery tomorrow. I’m on a rural route where the carrier drives so I’ll just have to wait and see.
Glad to read my carrier’s getting the day off tomorrow. Here’s a list of areas that will be suspending service.
Tonight’s news announced that the st. Louis area will not have mail delivery on 1\30.
Does anyone know if deliveries will be made on 1/31? I’m not seeing or hearing anything, so I’m assuming it’s all systems go.
ETA: Never mind; I went directly to the source, and here’s the information as of earlier this evening. In short, the no-delivery zone has moved a few states east.
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor HOLY FUCK IT’S THIRTY-FOUR BELOW ZERO OUT THERE!!!”
For what it’s worth, that is not now, nor has it ever been their motto or pledge. It’s something engraved into one of the USPS buildings and it went ‘viral’ nearly a hundred years ago.
It was meant as a tribute to how they typically brave the elements to get the mail out, but it’s not something they’re required to do.
We didn’t have mail delivery on the 30th; it was back on today. But a shipment of ink cartridges from NYC has been postponed due to the cold. This is holding up my current art work.
