The cover of this past week’s New Yorker looks oddly familiar to me. Is this cartoon based on anything? I’m imagining it as a panel from an old Mad magazine, drawn by Will Elder or Jack Davis.
Well, the style seems sort of South Park-y (admittedly, not exactly). Maybe that’s ringing some bells? Or is it something about their positions and the way they’re tangled? And I agree, it does have a Jack Davis feel to it, although not in his style at all.
Looks like a Three Stooges style fight. That’s the first thing that came to mind.
