100 Wonders to see before you die. How many have you seen?

Taj Mahal
Machu Picchu
Bali
Borobudur
Hong Kong
Kathmandu Valley
Mt. Everest
Temple Em. Buddha
Kashmir Valley
Varnasi/Ganges
Ladahk
Niagara Falls
Banff NP

so 13.

One day I’d like to get to Europe, I’ve been saving it for when I get too old and weary for adventure travel. Gee, I wonder when that will happen?

20, including 3 of the top 4:

1 Pyramids of Egypt
3 Taj Mahal
4 Serengeti Migration (not sure I caught the migration proper)
12 Ngorongoro Crater
22 Acropolis
24 Jerusalem Old City
27 Petra
30 Cappadocia
34 Egyptian Museum
40 Alhambra (way too low on the list IMO)
50 Hagia Sofia
59 Damascus Old City
73 Sahara Desert (probably, not sure if the bits of desert I’ve been in in Egypt count as the Sahara proper)
75 Baalbek (Baalbek is really freaking awesome.)
77 Topkapi Palace
84 New York Skyline
88 Niagara Falls
89 British Museum
90 Burj al Arab (driven past, haven’t been inside, and honestly wtf is up with 2 ridiculous buildings from Dubai being on the list?)
99 San Francisco

17 - 19, depending on how you count

Great Wall of China
Grand Canyon - From the air, so I’ve “seen” it, but I don’t think it counts
Ngorongoro Crater
Serengeti - I’ve been to the Serengeti, but not during the migration
Great Barrier Reef
Forbidden City
Chichen Itza
The Louvre
Versailles
Chartres Cathedral
St. Basil’s Cathedral
The Kremlin
Mont. St. Michel
Stonehenge
NY Skyline
Eiffel Tower
Ayer’s Rock/Uluru
The Hermitage
Banff NP

ETA: missed Chambord. So 18 - 20, depending on how you count.

Seven:

Great Wall of China
Machu Picchu
Forbidden City
Jerusalem Old City
NY skyline
Niagara Falls
San Francisco

Just six.

Teotihuacan
Chichen Itza
Carlsbad Caverns
Prague Old Town (used to live there)
New York Skyline
Metropolitan Museum of Art

Seven:

Chichen Itza
Niagara Falls
NYC
Grand Canyon (yawn)
Carlsbad Caverns
Yosemite
Yellowstone

FOUR! A lousy 4 wonders.

Amazon Rain Forest
Terracotta Warriors
Carnival in Rio
San Francisco

OK, well since I have to see all of the before I croak, I can safely say that I am now effectively immortal.
So I have that going for me.

0 in Africa/Middle East (though I have been to the continent), 1 in Asia, 2 in South America, 6 in North America, and 13 in Europe.

Colosseum
St. Peter’s Basilica
Alhambra
Canals of Venice
Versailles
Pompeii
St. Mark’s Basilica
Florence Cityscape
Leaning Tower of Pisa
New York Skyline
Eiffel Tower
Yosemite
San Francisco

I’m sure we have. I’ve got the Schwedagon Stupa in Myanmar covered - I’m sure someone else has been to Bagan. I once had plane tickets to Borobudur, but didn’t go in the end because they started rioting in the streets in Yogyakarta. I imagine someone with better timing has made it.

Eight:

Grand Canyon
Yellowstone
Carlsbad Caverns
New York Skyline
Metropolitan Museum of Art
Niagara Falls
Yosemite
San Francisco

It’s no coincidence they’re the eight U.S.-based ones – I’ve seen just about everything this country has to offer, including 35 of the 41 on his (woefully incomplete) Wonders of America map. One of these days I’ll travel farther.

Hagia Sofia and Cappadocia.

Only three…

NYC Skyline
San Francisco
Banff NP

I’ve been to Bagan. And I was in the Serengeti during the migration, but didn’t see them crossing any rivers. Anyone been to Mecca?

Chichen Itza
Grand Canyon
NYC Skyline
San Francisco

Come on now, you gotta give us a list. That’s pretty impressive. I’m thinking Droolage here with a capital D.

Terra Cotta Warriors (also as part of a traveling exhibit, so I don’t know if that counts or not)
Chichen Itza
Fjords of Norway
Louvre
Canals of Venice
Carlsbad Caverns
Uffizi Gallery
Florence Cityscape
Leaning Tower of Pisa
Yellowstone
New York Skyline
Eiffel Tower
Niagara Falls
San Francisco
Professional Bowling Hall of Fame

Grand Canyon
Louvre Museum
Versailles
NYC Skyline (pre 9/11, haven’t been back since)
Eiffel Tower
Niagara Falls
British Museum
San Francisco

A paltry eight. I need to spend more time in Europe but air flight is so distasteful to me in so many ways, that’s not going to happen until I can find a cruise across the Atlantic.

A lot of these things, though, I’ll freely admit that I have no desire to see. The various “grand” cathedrals? No, not really. Mecca? I don’t think I should see that, it’s not my sacred place. Carnival in Rio? No thank you. The Great Barrier Reef? Isn’t tourism to the reef a danger to it? I’ll leave it be. And if I’m going to go here, I’m going to call it by its proper name.

Anybody want to tally up which of these the most and the fewest of us have been to? Lots of NYC skylines, but only three for Teotihuacan.

Sorry, was doing this quickly last night. Seems like a lot - I was an expat kid and travelled the world from the age of 3. Now I’ve listed them, it’s 54 - the list is:
