10th Anniversary of "Nightmare Before Christmas"

Is the DVD available? I was disappointed in the videotape-it had a LOT of the original moviie cut out…anybody know if the DVD is complete? I loved this movie…anybody get the disc yet?

What was cut out? I saw the original in the theatre and have the VHS and DVD as well.

There are 2 versions on DVD, a vanilla edition and a special edition. Check your local amazon.com for more details.

I can’t believe the movie is 10 years old… Time sure goes fast. Which reminds me: I haven’t seen it in, like, two months. :o

Uhm… I was hoping that yawning smily there would come out more as shocked expression. Ah well…

Wow, ten years already. I thinK I’ll buy the DVD this weekend…

This is halloween, halloween, halloween!

LA! LA! LA!
LA-LA-LA! LA! LA!
LA-LA-LA! LA! LA!
LA-LA-LA! LA-LA-LA! Wooooh!

I can’t wait til Halloween, I’m going to let my daughter watch it for the first time! She’ll probably try to steal all my NBC stuff afterwards.

My daughter loved it at age two, and still watches it occasionally at age three. Her grandparents find it… disturbing…

I would like a cite for this as well (or at least some examples of what’s allegedly missing).

The official sound track is wonderful as well. I love Patrick Stewart doing the extended opening and closing narration.

From the Tim Burton FAQ

Also, on the soundtrack, there’s part of Oogie Boogie’s song that isn’t in the movie. Was this cut because of time constraints, or because it referenced cooking Santa Claus or something silly like that?

Ten years? No way, you’ve got to be kidding. Why, if The Nightmare before Christmas was ten years ago, that would mean that (gasp!) I’m getting old! And that can’t be!

This movie needs a rerelease. I want to see it on the big screen!

It’s also my favorite world from “Kingdom Hearts.” They really captured the world. And I can’t get the theme from that world out of my head.

As my old roomie and I used to sing (don’t worry, we loved the movie):

What’s this? What’s this?
Another stupid song.
I wish I had my bong.

I remember seeing it in theatres. I was pretty excited about seeing it. I guess a lot of people felt the same way, as there was a big crowd at the theater. I was in fourth grade at the time, and it feels like it was more than ten years ago.

Of course, after reading this thread, I was singing “KID-nap the Sandy Claws PUT him in a box…” in a high-pitched voice all damn day.

I love Nightmare Before Christmas because you can watch it TWICE a year, at Halloween and at Christmas.
