The Nightmare Before Christmas

Ok all you fans here is some cool news:

Not only is the special edition DVD coming out (with basically all the stuff that was on the laser disc version)

BUT:

Disney is doing a limited screen rerelease this fall

and

Starting Nov 2001 the haunted mansion will be made over with a TNBC theme!

Sounds awesome, TNBC is one of my favorite movies.
I love your sig!

Which Haunted Mansion?

Disneyland? DisneyWorld? TokyoDisney (does that one even have a HM?)

I’m betting not EuroDisney

Hopefully it’s DL - then I’ll have a chance to see it.

Sounds pretty cool. It’s a great movie, very fun.

YESSSS!!! Now I can finally see Santy Claws on the big screen.

Am I the only person who would love to wake up and read the headline: WORLD RE-DESIGNED BY TIM BURTON–Music by Danny Elfman?
What a sad soul am I…

That would be fantastic struuter. But, The Haunted Mansion??? Noooooo! You can’t mess with perfection! Sheesh people!

Disneyland… sorry…

Also it’s not permanent, it will be a holiday retheme that will happen every Nov-Jan

What extra materials are on the Laser Disk. I have the DVD version which has no extra features at all. (well it has the video release commercial)

I think Nightmare deserves it’s own ride at the parks and they should keep the Haunted Mansion. (It’s one of the few make-out rides)

here is what is on the new DVD:

Due out: 10/3

• Making of Documentary
• Audio Commentary
• Production Stills
• Deleted Footage
• Tim Burton’s Short Films Vincent and Frankenweenie
• Widescreen letterbox format

Zebra: You do realize, don’t you, that you are on camera the whole time you are on the ride? There is a CM watching you make out with whoever you are making out with.

But believe me, making is out is by far on the tame end of what they have seen.

When you are on the ride, look backwards toward the direction you have come, you will see red lights (same as all the other dark rides), those are the infra-red cameras. If you take a camcorder on the ride that has an IR light, they will pause the ride and tell you to turn it off because it messes up the cameras.

If Haunted Mansion is your favorite DL attraction you should know that the park is going to be having a Villains special event in late October. Their are two different package levels. The more expensive package includes, among many other things, dinner AT the Haunted Mansion. One can only hope that it will be in the ballroom. The cost for this package? $2,000.

For more information you can read the Fabulous Disney Babe’s column at MousePlanet. I’m sure that as details are clarified she will be posting more information.

NOTE: I am a columnist at MousePlanet, but it really is a great source for Disney information.

Oh joy! I get to see it again on the big screen! I was one of the few who saw it when it was in the theater (saw it twice, actually).

I wouldn’t mind the Haunted Mansion being done up for the holidays–as long as it went right back to its original state in January. I have a new excuse to go to Disneyland now!

No, you’re not!! I’d love for that to happen! Danny Elfman is God.

No way, struuter, that would be very cool. And that’s great news, Burn. I’ve only ever seen that movie on video but I love it.

::drool::
But damn…and I already liked you

Do you care for Boingo as well as the soundtrack stuff?

:: pops TNBC cassette in VCR::

::dabs up drool:: hee hee

I must admit, I’ve never heard any Boingo (that I remember, anyway). Any recommendations?

[slightly OT]
In terms of an album, * Best of Boingo * is a good starting point, with some of the less weird (but really good) stuff…

In terms of songs (hello mp3), I really like “Insects”, but it’s one of the more deranged ones (given the singer, though, you’d expect that).
“Weird Science”, “Dead Man’s Party”, “Wake Up (it’s 1984)” are all good examples of Danny Elfman at his (non-soundtrack) finest…

Now I’m going to have to fish out all my Elfman of all sorts and listen to it
(including “March of the Dead” from * Army of Darkness. * )
[/slightly OT]

Why doesn’t my life involve more claymation and dark scary-looking things? Well, at least more claymation anyway…

'Cuz you’d have to pause every few seconds to give the animators time to move the clay figurines. It can be very inconvenient.

[sub]Thanks for the recommendations. Downloading time!

Well a great boingo collection is the 2 cd anthology, it covers most of their stuff. If you are in6terested i also have an MP3 cd of bootlegs and unreleased material.

I must have subconsiously seen this thread yesterday, because last night I had a dream about “The Nightmare Before Christmas”–they were making it into a live action movie with Beck and Johnny Rotten.
