I really liked this flick-but I’ve found that the VHS vieotape version has a lot of footage cut from it…a lot of the relly interesting photograpy is missing. Does anybody know if a full-length DVD version is available?
And-are any new stop-motion animation films being made? I really prefer them to the computer-generated stuff!
I’ve got the DVD… I love it, but there’s no extras and I don’t know if anything’s been cut.
The people that did the Nightmare also did a version of James and the Giant Peach. It’s meant to be good though I haven’t seen it.

There’s two versions of the DVD. There’s a regular version, and a superduper version that has extras, including a making-of special. Amazon.com has both, plus a combo with James.
The only version I’ve been able to find is the regular version. sniff.
Oh well, at least I’ve got all the mp3’s to listen to while I surf!
Thanks for the info, Audrey. I think I’ll buy that combo (free shipping!).
I’ve got the DVD with all the extras (including Frankenweenie and Vincent). It’s totally awesome.
Right now, I’m trying to find the soundtrack from the French version of the movie. I’ve heard a few of the songs, and they’re totally awesome. L’estrange Noel de Monsieur Jack, they call it, just in case anyone knows where to find it.
The “James and the Giant Peach” isn’t bad at all, except for the ungodly horrible vomit-inducing “music-like noise product” that Randy Newman extruded.
If you fast forward past the ungodly horrible vomit-inducing “music-like noise product”, it’s actually a good little film, though not up to the standards of Nightmare.

You’re welcome. It’s one of my favorite movies and soundtracks, so anything to help sales.
I have the version with Frankenweenie and Vincent as well.
But speaking of soundtracks, I really like the title theme from Beetlejuice. Danny Elfman is quite the composer!
