Bored at work so I went through the history. It looks like the only time where only one team had the correct duo in the Super Bowl but got the wrong winner was Year 6 dale won by having the Cardinals beat the Steelers.
I would see it this way: imagine the final score is Pittsburgh 21 Atlanta 20; Zyanthia would win because the closest spread for the Steelers is Fear the Turtle, who has them winning by 3. A player who picks the winner but not the loser should have to beat the spread to take the title.
But the tiebreakers you linked to back on page 1 of this thread place picking both teams correctly above picking the winner correctly:
- Picked both teams, got winner correct
- Picked both teams, got winner wrong
- Picked winner correctly
- Picked loser correctly
- Closest to total score
- Closest to predicted margin of victory
Picked both teams, got winner wrong beats picked winner correctly. Since all 4 remaining combos are covered by someone still in the running (Pats/Packers, Pats/Falcons, Steelers/Packers, Steelers/Falcons), there’s no way anyone with 1 wrong so far can win.
ETA: In a later year, I believe total score was changed to “closest to each individual score” - so that a crazy pick like 63-0 wouldn’t beat 30-27 if the final score turned out to be 33-30.
Moot point now…six players remaining with both possible wins represented. Good luck, unscathed folks!

Of the four players to correctly pick both the winning and losing teams*, his pick of Patriots 31, Falcons 27 was definitely the closest to the actual score of Patriots 34, Falcons 28.
