A ski shop where I worked after school had a cartridge-loaded super-8 viewer. One of the films was made in the '70s, and featured what was known at the time as ‘hot dog skiing’. A couple of bits I remember were a guy in a black frock coat and stovepipe hat and carrying a bible doing his routine on his short skis while the soundtrack played The Reverend Mister Black; and a guy who lit himself on fire to do some freestyle jumps. I think the title song started something like Spirit lives… I believe the name of the film was Spirit.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
