I saw this on the afternoon movies in the early 70s. Anyways, this is what I remember.
A bunch of draftees, one of whom is a hippie are going through boot camp. Hippie man quickly pisses off his D.I. who tries his best to break him! I remember a scene where hippie man is ordered to stand out under the blazing sun while holding pails of sand out at arms length. But this doesn’t break his spirit because unknown to the D.I. hippie man knows how to meditate. In the scene hippie man has a rather tranquil look on his face as he meditates on all the wonderful times he and hippie woman had before he got drafted.
The other guys ask he can just stand out there so calm and peaceful and hippie man teaches them how to meditate. In the last scene I remember, the whole company is out standing under the blazing sun while holding pails of sand out at arms length and they all have that tranquil peaceful smile.
