I’m looking for any pictures or accounts from people who lived through the deluge. There are a few sites on the web, but it seems to be a footnote to the 1889 disaster. I was hoping to find pictures of the towns of Clymer and Homer City.
I remember the night of the flood well- I’ve never seen a rainstorm like that one. It rained all night in a vicious downpour, and the lightning was almost continuous. When morning came I found out thet we were cut off from most of the surrounding towns until the water went down, Tje creek ahd filled the floodplain below the power plant, making a brand new lake several miles long. The water was the color of mocha, and smelled like a huge sewer.
Did anyone else witness the storm?
