My B-19 targets arrived the other day.
Too bad it rained all day Saturday and is supposed to do the same Sunday.
Timing just isn’t my thing lately.

I drove 75kms to the range yesterday with my new toy- and the range was closed for the State Lever-Action Titles.
Bastards! It’s not like they needed every single freaking bay, but they had to close the range anyway…
I’m going to try again on Sunday (as in next week), after phoning ahead to make sure they’re actually open. :smack:
No, not yet. I’m putting it off because I expect to get a fabulous new job with a significant salary reduction. It makes sense, in a convoluted way, but I’ll probably have to shut down the business if I get it, and won’t be in weird places where carrying would be a good idea so much. Lots of wait and see.
I finally made it to the range
…and shot like crap :smack:
I’m almost embarassed to send in my targets. I’ll leave it to Cowgirl Jules to post my official score but I will say that Bobotheoptimist has me beat.
What hurts is that I competed in the Garand Match at Camp Perry two months ago. I scored a 93-1x/100 slow fire prone, 94-2x/100 rapid fire prone (unlike Bobo I like shooting prone), and 83-1x/100 offhand, all at 200 yards.
I’d still like to compete if we do this again.
Oh well, good luck to the rest of the participants.
Damn! Good thing I’m used to losing, if that’s the kind of shooting that goes on around here. I don’t remember what the target I submitted to Cowgirl Jules scored (a little higher than my latest match score) but it was nowhere near 93.
Not that I expect anyone to care, but Yahoo recently messed up the links I posted a month ago. “We’ve updated Yahoo pictures just to screw you better!” Jerks. Bunch of them are here if you miss gazing at the semi-arid hills of Colorado…
Must be a different number of rounds, bobo? I dug through my email, and I have you as follows:
[ul]
[li]140 on your Makarov target[/li][li]167 (2x) on your Springfield target[/li][li]171 (2x) on your Colt target[/li][/ul]
But that’s with 20 rounds each.
Yeah, I’m assuming Kaboodle is scoring 10-rounds, so I guess I’d match his offhand (with an 83) but my prone would drop a couple points while his jumped 10.
Plus it’s twice the distance - our club uses a reduced target at 100, which I think is easier than a regular target at 200.
In what can only be described as “an event worthy of note”, I was able to get to the range and compete in the match on Monday!
In the end I opted for my 7.62x51 NATO calibre Ishapore 2A1 rifle…
The appropriate target and scoring information has been despatched to our Official Scorer… I don’t think anyone’s going to have to try too hard to beat me!
Still, it’s lots of fun, and any day at the range is still better than a day at home with the housework!
w00t! Good on ya, mate! 7.62 is soooo much nicer than that freaky .303 … er, never mind
Who’s next? Bueller… Bueller… Bueller
It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
I got Kaboodle’s targets in the mail today:
134 combined on the two 10-round each targets, shooting an M1 Garand at 100 yards (I once owned one of those too, but circumstances caused me to have to trade it for a refrigerator–sad, but we do like food in our house.)
And I realized that I haven’t posted **Martini ** Enfield’s score:
127 shooting a 7.62x51 NATO calibre Ishapore 2A1.
With Bobo’s 167 (2x) Springfield target, I’d say he’s the clear winner! Attaboy, Bobo!
I never did get to officially shoot, as deer season just ended Sunday and I was pissing off enough deer hunters simply by being a bear hunter. I did get a bear though, pictures of which are on my website.
Nobody else posted pistol scores, so **Bobo ** wins that one too. Where would you like your cookies to be sent?
Conbrats, Bobotheoptimist!
Let me know if you ever get Down Under and I’ll shout you a beer!
Well, all those mad shooting skilz don’t do me a damn bit of good come hunting season.
Elk may laugh at me, but paper fears me!
