Frankly, after having driven a few examples of the ghastly things, anything would be better than the current car. While I can’t get all that much of a sense from that sketch, IMHO it’s got a more attractive appearance, and a degree of classic ‘Chevyness’ to it, than the Impala and Malibu, for example. OTOH, thinking of the dismal legacy of small Chevys that have not had the name ‘Nova’ on them, I am not optimistic that the new car will be any great shakes in reliability or dynamics.
One more gratuitous slam; England’s ‘Car’ magazine once referred to one of Rover’s less-inspired offerings as a ‘dreary little light reconnaisance vehicle’. While it may come from a differernt manufacturer, I think of that line every time I see a Cavalier. Which means, I guess, that I think of that line a lot.
