With thanks to Fark for the link, I present to you the 2005 Year In Pictures.
There are some truly amazing and touching photos in there, and the way they’ve created a slideshow set to music and commentary is really well done.
I really like ‘Protection from a New York downpour’ and ‘Raptor Row’, but picking a favourite is way too hard.
I just watched this as well.
I don’t usually go for “glurge”, but this was really moving. The picture of the child mourning her father’s death in Iraq almost got a tear out of me.
I’m no glurge fan either, but I thought the pictures and the way they were presented were beyond that.
The Editor’s choice was very moving.
That was pretty cool.
The editors choices were tough to see, but moving none the less.
I liked Saturns moon and the blade of grass incased in ice.
Being from the Bay Area my Honorable mention goes to the gas prices in the water drops.
I liked them all but I voted for the one of the little boy in his Marine outfit reaching out to his father’s flag draped casket.
