2007 Weight Loss Club, July

I’ve had a bad month. These weekends are killing me. It seems like every weekend we’re invited to some sort of party where there’s lots of food and drink. I try to take it easy on the food but I do love the drink. On Monday I was up to 178. I could feel that most of it was water weight. This morning I was back down to 175. I’m trying to really watch myself during the week so I can continue to imbibe on the weekends. I mean, sitting at the lake without a beer in my hand is … well, it’s no fun! No fun, I tell you!

I’ve been hovering around the 170-pound mark for nearly two weeks, so count me in with those of you who are trying to push below that right now. I wonder why it is that our bodies seem to like being at this weight so much?

Actually, this time I don’t mind plateauing. I think my body needs a break. I’m certain I’ll start losing weight again soon once it’s rested up a bit.

Well, we’re back from our weekly weigh-in. Jayjay did very well, losing 1.6 lbs and I did okay, losing another .2 lbs.

It was a bit of a tough week for me here. I was simply not motivated to exercise as often as I should. I will try to do better this week…

It’s better than a gain, Big D. Don’t beat yourself up over it.

I’m back down to 170, thank Og.

Congrats! Glad to hear it.

I am not beating myself up. I just need to focus a little more and get off my butt and exercise a bit more. I am being a bit too lazy when it comes to that.

Jesus, I haven’t exercised since February. Injury, company, inertia, company, injury, work work work, company.

I missed two days again this week. Worked late Thursday night and had a work/social event last night.

I’ll get back into it today, but I hate missing more than one workout each week.

yellowval I know what you mean. I can watch what I eat but I do like to drink a bit. And I also find that when I’m having wine with my dinner I tend to overeat. Like my sense of fullness is somewhat dulled by the wine and I’ll just keep eating because it tastes good.

My exercise habits have slacked a bit but I’m still managing a 4.5 mile walk 3 days a week so I guess that’s a good thing.

And today I weigh 170.5! I’m so very happy to not be in the mid-170s like I was for the past two weeks. One week of vacation and it took me 2 weeks to recover. That’s it! No more vacation for me!

Heh. I’m going on vacation this week. The good news is that I usually lose or at least stay the same when I’m on vacation. This year at least one of those days will be spent on a 16-mile bike ride so I’m not too concerned.

169 this morning. I suspect being a girl had something to do with my 3-pound jump.

Great, now I’ve got part of that stupid song stuck in my head.

:sings:
I Enjoy Being A Girl!

Your just one step ahead of me again Ginger and while I’m envious as all hell I’m also happy for your success.

I don’t enjoy Being A Girl or Special Lady Time one tiny goddamned bit. After 23 years of it, I’m DONE, dammit. You’d also think after all of this time that I’d know when it’s coming, but clearly not.

LOL. It’s one of the reasons that I enjoy being a guy…
runs to the hills

Also, being a big Amish bear requires a penis.

Very true! I hope that you are feeling better there now…

My scale this morning put me at 199.6! This is the first time in my adult life I’ve weighed in under 200lbs!

Yay!!!

YAY!!! Norinew

Hi all!

Just got back from vacation (two nights with the in-laws and then a week of camping), and I was thrilled to find that I actually LOST 5 pounds! I was simply hoping not to gain, but to lose more, and at a faster rate than my previous weeks, is pretty darn stunning.

(Of course, this is incontrovertible evidence that if I exercise, I’ll lose faster, since I wasn’t being THAT “good” about food, but I was moving more keeping camp…ugh. Exercise. Yuck.)

In other news, a standard campfire s’mores contains 2.5 WW points, and is still terribly, terribly yummy.

WoooHooooo! Well done!

Woo hoo Norinew!

That is very good news WhyNot! It’s also good to know that a standard s’more is only 2.5 points…

I had something very interesting happen this weekend. For the first time in a very long time, my mother was able to completely encircle her arms around my waist and give me a bear hug! I think that surprised me more than it did her…
