2008 Presidential Election Results Thread. See it here as they come in.

Polling time closures and estimated result times :- from here

[Nearly completely quoted article deleted.

Rayh, I appeciate what you were trying to do, but we would still prefer a link and a short quotation rather than +90% of the article. (Even the Brits deserve “fair use” consideration.)]

i just had an horrifying thought, what if the SDMB stops working tonight? server overload, something like that?, what i am gonna do if that happens? (starts hyperventilating)

btw guys, that kos map is very cool. They have the results there as soon as the networks get them. So essentially you’ll get to play with the equivalent of Chuck Todd’s map. It already has the votes cast in Dixville Notch and that other hamlet. Just in case you guys wanted to know.

Where I’ll be watching the returns, we will have two televisions and at least three computers watching the various media sources. It’ll be our own little Wolf Blitzer Situation Room.

Now, with the dailykos map, I think we need four computers.

Per Drudge, Obama +15 in Penn.

Polls closed in Indiana and Kentucky. Now what? How long must we wait?

Nice timeline there, rayh.

Where, second only to this thread of course, is the best online source for election results? Maybe there is some live video stream somewhere, or just some good website? What would you suggest for a TV-less person?

Thanks

I’m watching all night on CNN. Mostly, because it’s the only news channel I get in HD.

Gotta have this shit in the ol’ High-Def.

MSNBC is streaming it, you can link from their website or it’s at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/22887506#22887506

Great, the SDMB is not reporting the last posts in the threads, Is the site going down?

Holographic congress on CNN.

I was about to post the same thing! Pretty cool!

CNN: 0% reporting in Kentucky 52% McCain, 38% Obama
1% reporting Indiana 54% Obama 46% McCain.

Yeah, zero percent reporting from Kentucky. I dunno, you tell me.

I assume it is some fraction that automatically gets rounded to the nearest tenth (or whatever), and it’s < .05. But that’s just a guess. You’d think that after all these years of showing us that, the networks would figure out a way to make it look sensible…

It’s neck and neck in Indiana so far; Obama 50% (18,271) and McCain 49% (18,015).

Eeeeeeee!

Seconded.

Looks Like Obama is pulling ahead in Indiana. But only 1% in so it really is way to soon.

I heard once that there were other places on the internet. 'Course I slapped the guy who first told me that and called him a “foolish boy”, but since then I’ve heard other things that suggest he may have been right.
