2008 Presidential Election Results Thread. See it here as they come in.

:smack:

Exactly - the poor bugger hasn’t had a chance to grieve.

Michelle’s dress: black wrapping around all that red.

Well, Americans, congratulations, heartfelt from this Canadian. A new man, a new day. Good luck!

Thanks, baby bro.

That was totally amazing. I’ve never in my life felt like so much was at stake. I’m glad to have been able to be a very small part of it. We haven’t had a person of this magnitude as a leader of our country in a long, long time.

Well, I don’t care what anybody says. I think this is way better than the *American Idol *finale.

According to MSNBC, Obama is down about 35K votes, with a goodly number still to be counted in St. Louis City and County, KC and its burbs, and Columbia. Go, home state, go!

(I know it doesn’t matter. I just want my beloved home state to back the right guy.)

The Onion: Black Man Given Nation’s Worst Job.

ETA: I read an interesting comment: that this year’s election seemed so long because the nation had generally written off Bush after Katrina. Basically, the thesis is that the electorate had spent all their time since waiting for Bush to leave and trying to find someone to replace him.

Makes a certain amount of sense.

I just got back from a riot. Er, peaceful demonstration. On the news of the win, students just ran to the streets. It started small, only a hundred or so, but someone decided to march and it… grew. I’d say a thousand plus, towards the end of it all. With a good dozen cops not knowing what the hell to do.

And it was cold and rainy - my generation doesn’t suck!

(Of course, after awhile a mobile DJ showed up and there was a dance party in the street, but hey, our generation also has a short attention span.)

Wayne county results are now, finally, in. Unless I’m missing something; it looks like Obama will take Indiana.

oh yeah, the campaign has been long, and odd. and now everyone is “someone the something”.

sorry alphaboi876, old the woman had me laughing hard enough to scare the cats.

This was in Greensboro?! Where was it?

And when are they going to call NC?!

Where is he taking it? We don’t want it down here.

I feel like I lost 20 pounds of angst, shame and embarrassment. I feel like a limp noodle now.
I want celebratory sex! Who’s up for it!?
Ok, I might have had a bit of sambuca…

How YOU doin’?

Black man becomes President, white women go wild.

The nutjobs were right!

UNCG, on Tate St. It was peaceful, so we kept it pretty much confined to either end of Spring Garden. But if you are aware, imagine a march that went from Aycock to Tate St along Spring Garden and you’ll get a good idea of the size I’m talking about.

Ann Nixon Cooper.

I cannot properly comment in this thread, and for that I am sorry

In truth, I have barely been able to stop bawling since Obama was announced the winner.

Never in my life have I felt such pride in my country. I feel as though tonight has made me a better person and a better American.

You will excuse me while I go cry some more.

Hey, there, you. <bats eyelashes>

heee. I am just so happy. I can’t stop smiling.
