Fox’s online map is damned peculiar, if you ask me. They’ve called a number of states for either McCain or Obama, but if you hover your mouse over various states (like Florida), they’ll have one candidate over another with a large percentage, and show the votes counted so far, but in the many of the states that they’re calling for one candidate or another, they’ll have no votes as being counted.
ETA: So that states that have “0% reporting” but they are calling for one candidate or the other, is this based on overwhelming exit polls, results from past years, a combination?
Well, it’s 8pm EST and many polls in the eastern half if the U.S. are closing. We should have some solid results soon. Right now, McCain looks to win Kentucky and leads in Indiana, but not by much. Obama has a slightly stronger lead in Florida, and for some reason they’ve called Vermont for him though only 1,000 votes have been cast there.
It’s 8am here, and I’ve been up since 6:30 just trying to keep calm.
