So, my keyless entry fob’s battery is kaput. I opened up the back and got the replacement. Now I’m to the point where I am going to pop out the old battery and put in the new one. Problem is, that I can’t figure out how to get the old one out. I have the back cover removed and it seems to be spring loaded, but I can’t slide the battery out. I’ve tried using tweezers and a little screwdriver with no luck.

The owner’s manual says “Open up the back. Take out the battery. Replace with equivalent” So, that’s no help.

Ideas?

Could you post a picture of the fob? or maybe find one online and provide a link.

I’m assuming this is a coin cell, probably a #2032.

I’ve seen some where the battery is recessed into a hole and you need to press against the top edge of the battery at the side away from the contact/retaining clip with a small screwdriver and lift - it’s a motion similar to digging a hole with a shovel.
