True Fact: I actually performed there as part of a choral group one Christmas season back in College. We would give a 45-minute performance, tour the estate for 45 minutes, sing for another 45, tour for another 45, etc.
Awesome acoustics in the indoor marble Gazebo area. . . .
Just realized I hadn’t acknowledged my last two cards: interesting Christmas postcard from Waxwinged and scary gator card from VunderBob.
Glad you liked the card, Nayna. It’s really a lovely park. There are are a couple of other nearby attractions that you can package with a visit: the Columbus Museum of Art (it’s being renovated right now, but they have an awesome Chihuly exhibit that’s here until July 4) is a couple blocks away and the Franklin Park Conservatory is up the street (maybe a couple miles). There are a bunch of other things to see and do. Here’s a recent article that does a nice job of describing some places to visit and includes restaurant recommendations.
That’s 2 of 3 sent, with the 1 remaining going overseas; I’m 1 of 3 on the receiving side, and I know for sure one of the outstanding cards is in transit, also from overseas.
gardentraveler, thank you! You’re like my own personal Columbus travel agent. My daughter and I visit a different city each year, and it looks like Columbus is in for 2010!
melodyharmonius, I may be wrong, but I think one postcard of mine has been received. I have received two.
Heavens to Murgatroyd, Future Londonite, I was just checking out the Portrait Gallery and I’ve somehow missed your picture till now. I think I swooned looking at the third one.
Thanks to Noone Special for the beautiful picture of Haifa! I’ve received all 3 of my postcards for this round. Hope my international cards will make it to their destinations soon.
