Woo-hoo! Canada Post is starting to get rid of a backlog! I got a postcard yesterday from Future Londonite at St Albans, and another from Ms Robyn and the sprog in Pennsylvania!
Woohoo! I got my third postcard, also from Svejk! Lovely Quebec. Funny thing is, I was in Montreal near the beginning of all this - it would have been faster for **Svejk **to just meet me there and *hand *me the postcard. Still, neat-o, and I am three for three!
His message says “quick hi from days long gone in Quebec…” it means the front of the card, which is in B&W, and reflects a past era, but it’s funny that it’s “days gone by” in the literal sense of how long it took to get here.
Can I join in for round 3?
Well, sure, but we haven’t done round 2 yet.
In that case sign me up for round 2! I had figured I had missed R2 deadline.
You did, but melody has run into RL, and is a bit behind on getting the new grid out. No huhu. Hopefully she’ll check the thread before sending out the next list.
Yes, indeedy. I look forward to the next round.
I have cards and stamps ready to go for round two. I won’t know whether I received card 3 from round 1 until another four weeks, but at least I get to send more cards from the Falklands!
Northern Piper’s card is here, probably in Saturday’s mail, but i didn’t check the mail that day.
At last. Piper is saved!
<< whips off blindfold >>
<< grinds cig into the dust >>
I got a card today from Piper! Woo hoo! And I love the chubby cheeked chipmunk!
and Tapioca Dextrin is in the Falklands (why, in God’s name??) so my card to him is likely in his mail box, pining for his return. I’m golden!
Ah - you got the whimsical one. the other two were stereotypically Canadian (flat Prairie farm scene on one, and a Mountie on the other, standing on guard).
Looking at the postcard Ms Robyn sent me - it’s a map of Pennsylvania, and I suddenly understood something - I’d never got how Philadelphia could be a port city, since PA is not on the coast, but I see its eastern border is a river! with New Jersey and also touching on Delaware. It’s all starting to make sense. Is that the Hudson?
Ancora Imparo!
Ha, Albany is a port city, too.
Q: What is taxidermy’s greatest triumph?
A: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Last postcard received from Svejk!
So I’ve received all three of mine, and two of mine made it to their destination. I’m hoping my last one still makes it to MsRobyn.
did I miss round 2 ??
