It’s primaries today, primaries May 8th and June 5th, the Republican National Convention at the end of August, the Democratic National Convention at the beginning of September, and, finally, Election Day on Tuesday, November 6th.
You can pretty much forget about the primaries. Romney will be the 2012 Republican nominee. Look for more momentum, though, as Romney continues to win primaries.
Next up: the Conventions. Even though I attended the 2004 Democratic National Convention, I am not planning on going to the 2012 Democratic National Convention. I am planning on going to Celebration VI, the Star Wars convention in Orlando, Florida from August 23 to August 26 and then going to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida from August 27 to August 31. Unfortunately, there just is not enough time and money to go from Florida to North Carolina. However, it will be fun. Going to two back-to-back conventions in Florida will be simply amazing. Unconventional, in fact. As someone who attended the 2004 Democratic National Convention, going from the Star Wars convention to the Republican National Convention will be a unique experience, to say the least. I wonder how many people will go to the Star Wars convention in Orlando and then go to the Republican National Convention in Tampa. The last Star Wars convention, Celebration V, was in Orlando, and I attended that convention. So I have experience there, too. Will you go to the Star Wars convention and the Republican convention?
Last but not least is Election Day. It all comes down to this. Here we go.
In other news, the NFL draft is coming up this week. I can’t wait for the season opener on September 5th. Is anyone else planning on watching Monday Night Football in November and then going to vote the next day? I am.
I would like to propose a debate here: what, precisely, is the debate here?
There’s a joke in there somewhere about going to a meeting of grown men living out a fantasy where war is a constant threat, the science is made-up and an ancient religion is a major influence on culture and politics. But before that, a Star Wars convention.
By most measures, Obama has a substantial lead over presumptive ® candidate Romney. It’s still early, and things can change, but right now it looks like The Force is with Obama.
On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon the President said that Mitt Romney might start rolling out the attack ads. Methinks it might backfire. Etch A Sketch, anyone?
While Mitt Romney won primaries, the President hosted students from UNC on On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and discussed interest rates for student loans which are set to increase on July 1st.
Santorum dropped out, and now Gingrich. Everybody’s focused on Romney. This is Paul’s chance to swoop in and snatch the nomination undetected. For he has the element of surprise on his side. No one will see it coming.
