I couldn’t find a thread n this yet.

So Tiger is once again the talk going in. Tiger has struggled of course, but seemed to be somewhat his old self a couple of weekends ago, leading to a many making him the favorite this week. I can see it, in the sense that Tiger has ALWAYS played well at the Masters. The last couple of trips, when his game was in the tank generally he still managed top five finishes at Augusta. there was a time when you could take Tiger vs, the field and feel pretty good, I think those days are gone, but I do think you can still say he is the favorite.

And he has started out very solidly, at this point though 11 he is -2, with some bridie chances coming up (bogey chances as well)

Stenson is really destroying the course, though. Two eagles on the front nine, -6 through 12. If he can throw in another eagle at 13 or 15 he could have a round for the ages

Not the way Stenson probably wanted to end the round. Wow, to go from 6 under through 13, to 1 under at the end…

You usually read of people eagle-ing the back 9 par 5s, not the front 9. To eagle both of them, and then crater this badly on the home stretch, I wouldn’t be surprised if this affected him enough to cause him to perhaps miss the cut tomorrow.

Yeah, that last hole looked very familiar to me, as in every par 4 I ever play. (OK not every, but I can blow up a hole like that pretty easily.)

Tiger didn’t finish so hot either, 2 bogeys on the last 2 holes. Phil is +3.

Wow, what a beautiful day there today. I like to remember buying my first HD TV specifically in order to watch this in HD. Awesome.

Just watching the recorded version on ESPN right now. M-A J sure looks more grizzled than ever!

Tiger’s back nine was a disaster. It’s a miracle he only went 2-over on it. Everything he had working two weeks ago is gone. It was target practice on 16 today, and Tiger teed it up on the extreme left side of the tee box, tried to hit a cut and just wiped the face of the club across the ball and sent it 50 feet right of the hole, plugged in a bunker. His mind is really messed up.

Bubba or Sergio those are my guys… I have the bias towards them, but the way Bubba kept his cool after catching the lip of the bunker and saving par on 18 yesterday? that said a lot to me… bubba keeps his cool and he’s on top of his game… plus he’s got the distance to get an eagle or 2 if necessary-not that he would try that hard to get one, which may be what keeps him from the jacket, i think he’ll definitely finish top 5

Segio needs a major! I always saw him as getting a green jacket, but I think people said the same of Greg Norman. - I can’t get excited about Sergio, plus I’m a lefty so I’m sticking with Bubba.

Tiger can never be written off, but this isn’t the Tiger we used to know and love. I saw Tiger miss a 5 footer earlier… doesn’t look like much has changed from last except the momentum coming into the tournament.

Couples? meh… maybe but I don’t think he’ll shoot another round like he did today. He’s a good solid golfer, this is the masters though, I think he’ll get passed; he’ll get beaten, he won’t lose.

McIlroy and Westwood will be trouble… neither I want to win, but I see them as the anti-sergio&bubba, they got just as good a chance at this point…and mcilroy’s god-given talent and way he’s been playing make him the scariest on the course right now

Don’t know much about Dufner, won’t write him off, but won’t write abuot something I don’t know much about. same for the south african

Jimenez - I could see him ending up in an exciting playoff, but I just don’t see him as a masters champion, I like him though and he’s fun to watch, I wouldn’t mind seeing him win.

Others, keeping in mind that this tournament is only half way through:

Mickelson could easily pull it off… i just don’t want him to

Vijay…haven’t heard much about him in a while, once again, could do it, but he’s a jerk so I hope not

Adam scott could put together a couple great rounds

…schwartzel is down at +3 with tiger - i would say there’s a good chance one of these guys will finish in the top 10, top 5 is certainly not outta the question

Tomorrow is one of my two traditional days a year to watch golf on TV.

If the leaderboard bounces around as much as it did today, it may be one of the best.

I’m no phan of Phil, but that was good shootin’ today! Poor Freddy.

I read this guide before the tournament started. Foolishly I didn’t have a bet.

A few dollars on Peter Hanson and Phil Mickelson at those prices would make for fun viewing tomorrow.
