Apparently he is going for the record of the largest CGI wave ever.

Question: What are we supposed to assume could cause a wave high enough to swamp the Himalayas? The freakin moon falling out of the sky or something?

Gotta wonder what Michael Bay is gonna be doing to top that.

If it was my guess , I would contend that the poles got top heavy and have shifted , so the new north and south pole are somewhere else and we got new beach front property.

I’d really be curious about his politics myself, since he also produced StarGate and it’s not-sequel, Independence Day, both movies prominently featuring the US military fighting overpowerful aliens (both also feature non-military nerds fighting overpowerful aliens and wooing beautiful women, so its not hard to see why these movies were successful sci-fi films:D)

Just a comment that “Day After Tomorrow” was adapted from Art Bell & Whitley Strieber’s “Coming Global Superstorm”. I think this one is based on Strieber’s
“2012: The War for Souls”.

Hah, no, but I’ve read about the strategic charlie foxtrot that was the various attempts to rescue the US Embassy hostages in Tehran. You ever hear about the plan to modify a C-130 with rocket packs to allow it to land and take off vertically in a soccer stadium? But I digress.

Operation Credible Sport. Might have worked, if they’d had more time to get the system right. I’ve also heard of a proposal to modify a C-130 like a Fairey Rotodyne, which would be weird-looking. (I guess we both digress.)

As somebody who’s always loved science fiction and fantasy, and who started watching movies almost a half century ago, I do have to admit that modern special effects (if you’ve got the money for them) are nothing short of amazing. Pretty much anything you can picture in your mind’s eye can be put on the screen, given the best available technology and enough care. Great! Now we just need good scripts, damnit, so the amazing huge thing will mean something.

To continue this hijack, I believe all of this led to the development of the V-22 Osprey.
