I didn’t think Duke was a legit #2, but still… whoa. Go Patriot League!
SUCK IT, DUKE!
Go Mountain Hawks!! Awesome, baby!
ETA: It looks like the Boilermakers are gonna hang on for the win over the Gaels, too!
EATA: Yep! Purdue wins!
@DarrenRovell RT’d that Norfolk was the biggest underdog to win in the NCAA Tournament. Then again, what was the line on Lehigh?
Okay, I’m now rooting loudly for the Blackbirds! GO BLACKBIRDS!
YES YES YES YES YES!!!
Duke went down like a drunk sorority girl at a mixer!!!
Duke. Went. Down.
Down.
Down.
Down.
Say it with me.
Duke. Went down. To a 15 seed that has never been in the tourney before.
IN THE FIRST ROUND!!!
The line was Duke by 12.
Michigan State is favored over LIU-B by 20, and Kansas is favored by 15 over Detroit.
Go Blackbirds!
Go Titans!
Let’s go to the quarry and throw stuff down there!
I wonder if Michigan State knows what happened and if they’re going to be a little nervous about the mojo.
Nitpick - Lehigh has been in the tournament before. Kansas beat them two years ago. This was their first tournament WIN.
Actually, this is Lehigh’s fifth tournament appearance, but their first victory. And it couldn’t have happened to a nicer team.
I watched only the last few minutes–rooting for Lehigh is really hard but I’ve got a softspot for underdogs, root cheerfully for any Patriot League team which isn’t Lehigh, and sorry, Duke, but you’ve had other chances, and will have other chances.
And I liked Coach K’s comments when questioned after the game. He refused to blame the player from Duke who didn’t play, admitted Duke’s game had a few flaws, and gave credit (or blame) to Lehigh for the win.
I stand corrected
I didn’t even dare to dream that Lehigh would choose to give me such a delightful present today. I’m just taken aback. Great work, Lehigh.
Michigan State finally pulling away from the Blackbirds.
Kansas has a 10 point lead over Detroit at the half.
Notre Dame is up over Xavier by 7.
But the Bulls of USF are ahead of the Owls by 6! Go Bulls! Keep Freaky Friday alive!
As a Public Service, I will provide a link to the Spandau Ballet’s True in case you are not sick of it yet.
Yes I know the Ad is working since I got Chevy Malibu on the brain, but bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech, the earworm is driving me nuts.
“This is the Soooooooound of my Soul”
I think the Bulls just proved themselves to any doubters. They were solid in this win over Temple.
Can Xavier manage to close their upset?
Grats to the Musketeers!
With all the upsets today, my bracket got beaten up a little, but it’s not busted. Fifteen of my Sweet Sixteen are still in it, Michigan being the lone goner.
Okay, you’ve convinced me. Duke gets special seeding advantage that leads to more final fours and titles than they deserve, (and they get all the calls from the refs as well).
Not a Mizzou fan, eh?
As happy as I am to see Duke gone, they certainly didn’t seem to be getting any help from the refs. If anything Lehigh got most if the close calls.
