What a terrible call. There was a clear recovery there, why does that not apply on passes when it applies on fumbles? The whistle doesn’t matter then, but it does on incomplete passes?

You can, but since the whistle blew before the ball was recovered, winning the challenge would just mean that Pittsburgh would get the ball at the spot of the fumble. The defense can’t recover the ball after the whistle.

I’m pretty sure if it was ruled a fumble, but the whistle blew early, the recovery would still count. So it seems you can reverse “incorrectly ruled down by an early whistle, ruled fumble” but not “incorrectly ruled forward pass by an early whistle, ruled fumble”
His elbow dropped at the one. Ground caused the fumble but it should be first and goal.

No. The call that it was Steelers’ ball inside the one was absolutely correct.
