Hoping for Bridgewater (who may be there at 26), Evans, Dennard, or trade back a few slots for Mosley now in that order.
I can’t watch yet. The Browns went down 5 slots for only a 4th round pick next year?
No, they got the Bills first and fourth next year to move down 5 slots.
I hope two tackles get drafted here. Evans at #9 and Bridgewater at #26 would make me hard.
A 1st and a 4th.
So the Browns got next year’s first from the Bills and a fourth next year to move down 5 spots. Good for them. The idiocy of GM’s in regards to future picks is great if you can take advantage of it.
I guess it depends on how you project the Bills to be drafting next year, but if it’s top 15, that’s a pretty great trade for the Browns. If it’s top 5 or so, it’s amazing. If it’s bottom of the first round, it’s pretty decent.
Tampa is up. Question: why are the Bucs apparently giving up on Mike Glennon? I thought he played very well last year for a rookie, certainly better than expected, and he has the arm to be very good if other things fall into place.
New dream scenario: Manziel makes it to 9, Browns trade it to Dallas for #16, then take Evans (unlikely), Dennard, or Mosley. Or Bridgewater of course, but I think they may be targeting him at #26.
Actually, they’re probably looking at Carr for #26. That would turn this day pretty sour.
Well, ESPN, in their own special way, has already nauseated me with their draft “intro”. I must really be out if their target audience. I already knew that, but the 18-25 year olds must be a bunch of freakin’ idiots.
Oh, and is anyone else sick of seeing Richard Sherman?
I just want to go on record as saying that his play against Crabtree in the NFC playoffs wasn’t exactly great. Yeah, he made a play. If there was another 49er in the area, that ball is caught for a TD. Sherman, you knocked the ball up, not down. That is not the best way to defend a ball in the end zone, you over-hyped, over-exposed idiot! (OK, he’s not an idiot. Anyone who makes himself a household name with one post-game rant is pretty clever. But I just want him to go away.)
I want Mel Kiper to go away too. He looks like Eddie Munster all grown up.
Yeah, I think the downside of the trade is breaking even, and that’s if the Bills are somehow picking like 28th.
Whoops.
Now sure why my pre-draft post just showed up.
Back to the draft talk.
By the way, has anyone ever gone back to look at how Mel Kiper’s picks have done?
There were times in the Bucs game against the 49ers that he got into an up-tempo zone and shredded the vaunted Niner defense. And I also called him the best QB from last year so I have that to want Tampa to keep him playing.
This could happen, although I think the Manziel to Dallas talk is just that. Talk.
Great trade for the Browns, though. Terrible for the Bills
Phuck. Am I allowed to say that?
Browns traded from 9 to 8. There’s … rarely a good reason to do that, unless someone else was bidding for the pick. Could that mean JFF? Nervous.
I’m loving the Browns this year. Let’s see who they end up with.
There’s a sitethat records accuracy and tallies it over five years. Kiper is 5th overall. I give him a C+
Wow! Justin Gilbert to the Browns at 8!
Not that it’s a bad pick, but wow!
Nice goddam pick, Browns. Good looking secondary there in a passing league.
Can’t imagine that was a smart trade by Cleveland, but at least it was a cheap mistake.
