SOuthern Democrats are dead! Long live northeastern Republicans!
538 has it at 99% for the Republicans. Pop that cork OMG; we’re done.
ETA: Nate explains why:
The GOP will need just one more seat to clinch a majority in the Senate. Any of the following would work:
Louisiana, in the Dec. 6 runoff;
North Carolina, where Republican Thom Tillis’s numbers look good;
Iowa, where Republican Joni Ernst’s numbers look good;
Alaska
Virginia
Democrats would need to sweep all five states.
ETA Too bad Iowa favors the wackadoodle.
Awesome. The Mount Rushmore of gibberish.
Well, at least pot is legal in the District of Columbia now. I think they will need it.
What’s up with Chris Matthews screaming at Cory Booker? His head is exploding!
Seems to me that a story of this election is starting to emerge, and the storyline isn’t people just voting against Obama. Republicans managed to put together quite a few good candidates in big races.
Sure, there’s a few weak candidates (like Scott Brown, Gillespie and Tillis) who did quite well despite having baggage. But overall, the party put together a slate of candidates that didn’t do stupid stuff like refusing to say who they voted for in 2012, or how women’s bodies can shut that stuff down. Plus, while the candidates have pretty solid conservative credentials, the total clowns like McDaniel in Mississippi got smacked down pretty hard as opposed to being glorified as mavericks or whatnot.
Well let’s see about Alaska.
Ernst wins. +6.
Now is official.
If anyone needs to get blazed, it’s congress.
Though the House will be more agreeable, nothing will get done.
Seems to no longer matter.
You should get a job working for MSNBC.
Ernst in Iowa. GOP in control of the U.S. Senate.
Oh, it matters, since Republicans need a cushion for 2016. And it looks like they’ll have a really good one.
The hog castration ad pays off.
Woooooooooooooohooooooooooooooo!
North Carolina – Hagan loses to Tillis!! +7 GOP
Fox calls it for Tillis in North Carolina. Wow. Big win!
Now Tillis in NC. +7
Glad to see claims of racism, sexism, and other ploys didn’t work.
