He is an egomaniacal asshole. There is no excuse for kicking a team when they are down.
In a fully meaningless game against the team that took glee in your downfall the previous year?
Yeah. Yeah there is.
I doubt any professional sports team in any sport on this side of the Atlantic would expect anything less than their opponents trying to win every match by the greatest margin possible, in fact it’s be something of an insult if they didn’t.
Edit, especially as Kane is going for the golden boot award and after this match is the clear favourite.
Right? How insulting would it be to just play kick around for a full half?
Also, Leicester supporters were the ones leading the one season wonder charge against Kane. I’m sure he takes extra joy in sticking it to them.
I expect Kane will be the recipient of a hard tackle or two next season.
Yesterday’s performance by my Foxes was a disgrace. Clearly, they didn’t care about the fact that Spurs were going to be out to show that last year was so last year. Made me embarrassed.
I think Mahrez would look good in Lillywhite
That’s why Spurs keep Lamella and Dier on the payroll.
Arsenal up 2-0 but down to 10 men in their last match of season.
My weekend mornings (here in southern California) wont be the same without footie.
God I hate Liverpoo.
Koscielny’s red will see him out of the FA Cup Final. That’s not good news for Arsenal.
It was a pretty stupid tackle. Deserved red.
Totally agree. I really hope Wenger stays as i am a fan of tradition and he has had some bad luck.
I think most fans - of other teams in the league - hope Wenger stays.
Great end to a great season. I wish Arsenal a successful Europa League campaign.
Arsenal finished very strongly. Be careful what you wish for.
Enjoy Europe.
Thursday Nights in Azerbaijan are fantastic.
Also, Harry Kane won the Golden Boot despite missing 2 months of games due to injury.
Well, Watford managed to stay up again, but other than that there’s not much nice to say.
So here’s a question. Would you have rather they gone down and rebuilt back up, or are you happier they stayed up?
I saw an argument recently that Sunderland got caught in a cycle of always trying to be good enough to avoid the drop but because of that spending pattern they could never break out of that avoid the drop stage and that going down allows some teams the ability to refresh and come back up stronger.
Related…but i don’t want to give it its own thread:
Italy and Spain will NEVER institute the sort of anti-diving rule England has next year and Scotland had this year. Those two dives in the Barca game today are disgraceful. And yes, the second was a dive. You can see on the last replay there is no contact.
The only other solution is for the players to police themselves. Make it clear you’re going to receive some sort of Roy Keane like retribution for diving. Gratz…you got a player sent off. Enjoy two months in rehab.
