I think he’s going to do what he’s always said he was going to do: Have all the votes be counted and take it to the convention.
I happen to believe that Hillary and Bernie will both do what’s right, it’s just not what some annoying Sanders supporters would want to hear and it’s not on the timeline that annoying Clinton supporters want.
We have nearly six months until the election. Primary states are still voting. Hillary is in no rush to have Sanders leave the race, so I’m not so sure why you are.
You complain that Sanders supporters don’t listen to him when he says things they don’t like. Well, here’s what Hillary said:
I know there are some contests ahead and I respect Sen. Sanders and whatever choices he’s making. And I have a lot of empathy about this, Anderson. You know, I ran to the very end in 2008.
So maybe you and your ilk should chill the fuck out.
As Nate Silver said just today, “I think Sanders supporters will probably line up behind Clinton after California and that Democrats will wind up with high levels of party unity.”
And also, if you are so fucking worried about beating Trump and getting people to support Hillary, calling his supporters and Sanders names in a public forum is probably not the best way to do it.
In a Facebook post I made expressing my frustration with Sanders supporters, a friend of mine about my age posted the following:
This is a much better way to look at it, and Bernie getting issues that are important to young people on the forefront is a better way to look at it (better than I was looking it) and much better than what you guys are doing.
He won’t; he craves the attention. What I’m beginning to hate about Bernie is that whereas Trump is at least honest and forthright in being a douchebag, Bernie tries to play the role of the douchebag of compassion.
But back to the more substantive criticisms of Bernie, what is it that we don’t know that we’re missing? What is it that we’ll regret if we don’t nominate Bernie? Will we miss the administrative and economic incompetence that is typically associated with the Left, the kind that basically forced Burlington College to close? Are we going to miss how his own supporters, who probably only show up every 4 to 8 years to vote anyway, are seemingly clueless about how to grab delegates? They want us to believe they can run the country when they can’t even run a small liberal arts college or pick up two delegates in a local campaign meeting. Uh, sorry, but no.
Unfortunately, though, there’s no talking to these people. They’re just going to address these criticisms with more of the same rage that they’ve been using to fuel their campaign in the first place. I won’t hide my contempt, which is growing by the day.
The question was about the violence and death threats. I take it your answer would be No, if you could face it squarely.
It’s already pretty much too late for Bernie to start. And what does Clinton have to do with Sanders’ supporters’ conduct? Just more of your evasion?
We’ve been over that, too, but now you’re even evading to yourself. Sanders is now doing no more than damaging Clinton and the entire party, and thereby helping Trump. As are you. It’s time to face it.
I did? When? And when did Sanders tell his own people, directly, to cut the shit?
I didn’t think you were so new here that you don’t know how hilarious a post using the word “ilk” is.
It would help if Sanders himself, and his supporters, actually started to do that, wouldn’t it?
I’m not beating anyone up, or making death threats, or evading addressing those who are. Time to drop the butthurt and accept some responsibility for your own conduct, instead of pretending only other people have any.
So are you ready to cut the shit and stop helping Trump? Is Sanders? So long as the answer isn’t Yes, it’s No.
[del]The Lizard Man[/del] Jeff Weaver is on CNN right now disclaiming any responsibility on the part of the campaign for Nevada. Same old line about how unfair the process is. Nothing to see here.
Sanders is inciting instability. Those of us who see it for what it is don’t have to sit on our hands and hope he goes away. I will stand up and say it bluntly: GET THE FUCK OUT THE ELECTION!!!
My diehard FB Bernhead friend weakly protests that Markos was always for Hillary. But that site was heavily Bernie-oriented last time I visited; now, there are three diaries on the recommended list that are apparently written by Bernie fans but which lament how ugly things are getting and express varying degrees of disillusionment.
I don’t know how to feel about all of this. Where WAS the violence? Seriously. And why does it seem like everything seems to lean into Hillary’s favor when something goes wrong? It just seems fishy to me, but I’m open to how other’s respond to me, and perhaps, the video if they have the time.
So. Much. TRUTH. They are really living up (down) to every stereotype of the feckless left, that can’t organize a three car funeral but wants to run the nation’s banking and health care systems out of D.C.
Lol. I am not a Bernie supporter and this ain’t 1969. And unless Sanders had 4 kids and earned less than $5000 in 1969 ,he was less of a slacker than you are now.
I seem to recall the Bernie-mob being a good thing when it was mobilized against Trump to prevent him from speaking. Now that this is hindering Clinton he and his groupies got to fall in line and shut up?
I even started a thread about it. I think Drumpf is a fascist shitbag, but I was still staunchly against what those Bernhead disruptors did. No contradiction here!
According to Josh Marshall (who seems to have been seriously knocked for a loop by the events in Nevada), those of us hoping for Bernie to moderate his rhetoric are in for a long wait:
Marshall, and anyone else surprised by this, hasn’t been paying attention. Sanders is not, and never has been, a liberal Democrat. He is a radical leftist who was reluctantly convinced to make a pro forma liaison with the DNC for the purpose of trying to take Hillary down and promote his revolutionary agenda.
Echoing the “bullshit” on this. Pretty damn unified here. Protesting outside an event fine, blocking access to or disrupting an event, not. Using violence and making death threats? Not.
