I like The Cars, but don’t think they should be on the list. I’m surprised the Moody Blues aren’t already in.
“This Will Be Our Year” has become a long standing joke between me and my husband. I first put it on a Playlist I made him in grad school, because he was struggling with the workload, we’d been through a string of bad luck, and I was convinced this would be our year. We would hold hands and listen to it and say, “This time. It’s going to be better this time.” Nope. I put the song on his playlist in 2009, and our first good year was 2016. The fact that 2016 was his first year out of grad school, is I’m sure, entirely coincidental.
I’m not great at recognizing what makes a band influential, but I love the Cars. They seem unique to me. So I approve that one. And Radiohead.

To the people suggesting special exhibits for acts they think unworthy, that’s all the RRHOF is. There’s one floor with dimmed lights and plaques for the inducted acts, but the rest of the museum is literally just special exhibits of rock bands. When I was there in '96, they had a Blind Melon exhibit.
The bottom floor is the permanent exhibit hall, and the last time I was there, the part closest to the exit was devoted to that year’s inductees. By the way, the place was apparently designed by Disney, and has sliding doors to shut off parts of the exhibit space to move the crowds through more quickly - so if you get to the end, go back towards the middle, and see the parts that they shut off to you.
I learn something new every time I go there. I absolutely love that place.
Found a great completion of Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s guitar solos. She really invented the rock guitar in the late 40s to early 50s. Enjoy!
I saw them twice. I’m wondering what someone is looking for in a Cars show.
They had a visual presence that was unique, mainly because of ric. I’m watching a faces show right now on youtube. They’re playing their songs. No acrobatics.
