Debate over. I don’t thing there was anything that changes anything. Trump improved (by not being as much of a monumental clown), but Biden might have as well.
Hands down the best of the debates this year. Fantastic job of moderation by Miss Welker.
I give the edge to Biden because Trump was still too Trump-y.
CNN’s Jake Tapper on Trump: “He did lie like Pinocchio.”
Black men got the right to vote in 1870 so Grant I think. Women of any color didn’t come till later.
The point is…?
Huh. I’m not watching the debate; I’m watching the Giants/Eagles game and following this thread and also following my twitter feed. 3 minutes ago, a tweet appeared on Trump’s twitter account that disparaged both Biden and Harris on their energy policies. Did any of you notice Trump typing on his phone a few minutes ago?
He had his eyes down and doing something with his hands…
No he was playing the air accordion.
Was he?..
Tucking in his shirt?
Man, wish this thing could just end now.
Yeah it was a terrible answer. Trump simply can’t let go off his grievances and even pretend to be statesmanslike. Biden seized the opportunity and closed on a strong note.
Overall this is perhaps the last big event of the campaign and I don’t see it changing the trajectory of the race. Biden stumbled on occasion but was overall stronger than Trump.
Biden competently and consistently answered questions; Trump simply rambled fearmongering most of the time.
Which is what his base loves but he needed to win people not in his base tonight which this didn’t do (I don’t think).
I hope ABC interviews more undecided voters. They’re goofy.
Every politician in the word has a social media director that sends tweets out. You can also schedule tweets to go out at a later time.
Not really sure what point you were trying to make there, but… thanks for the YouTube vid link…?
Much better than I expected. I’ve already voted for Biden, but I saw nothing tonight that makes me regret it.
Trump’s side must have given him one hell of a drug. He was way too in control of himself. Also, he set such a low bar last time, that he almost appeared presidential for a few brief moments. I still don’t see this debate changing anyone’s mind. If someone claims that it convinced them to vote for Trump, I assume they would have eventually come up with a reason to do so anyway.
A good summary. Trump seemed to want to make people afraid: of immigrants, of Obamacare, of what happens to your job if Biden wins, of what happens to your healthcare. You will lose America as you know it, if Biden is elected. Be afraid of Biden!
Biden, on the other hand, seemed to want to be more positive; to make Americans less fearful of everything that Trump threatens. Biden’s answers indicated that yes, things will change, but they will be for the better, and you, the American people, will all benefit. Not just billionaires, not just Republicans or red states, but all Americans.
The Hunter Biden stuff was a total waste of time for Trump. Didn’t make sense and doesn’t have anything behind it. Couldn’t be more obvious that it’s bogus.
