As for the third debate – I’ve seen reports that the last straw that convinced the commission to convert it to virtual format was that the lighting and camera crews were threatening to walk rather than risk exposure to Demented Donnie’s Disease Droplets. Presumably the lighting and camera crews at the third event venue have an equally strong sense of self-preservation, so I expect a similar announcement, followed by a similar Trumper temper tantrum, in the next few days.
Well, yes, infecting his opponent (which is really the only reason for him to insist on physical presence, given the obvious fact that his microphone could be cut off under either format if the commission develops the cojones to enforce its rules) would change the trajectory of the campaign.
