They don’t give the delegate vote totals for the nomination. I think that was the real roll call but maybe they’ll do a show one for prime time.
I’ve checked the schedule and what strikes me is the number of speakers. They are planning on 17 or 18 speakers a day. In addition, there are reports that Trump wants to talk in Prime Time every day although he is only on the Thursday schedule.Then again, the Democratic schedule didn’t list Biden’s grandchildren or Harris’ relatives as “speakers” while all of Trump’s relatives are listed.

There’s no platform.
On the one hand, that makes it easy to refute accusations that you’re not following your platform, or that a policy isn’t in the spirit of your platform, or etc. But… what are they for? Just “Trump”? or “Trump and whatever he tweets about that morning”?
They couldn’t even throw out “oh, and we’re still against abortion” as a fourth paragraph? I might have disagreed with a great deal of their platforms in previous years - but at least they were willing to state a set of opinions.
The Republican Party really has no there there anymore.

I understand they’re going to do a remote from the rim of a live volcano where winners of an “I love Donnie more than my own children!” contest will toss effigies of the Obamas, the Clintons, the Bidens, Bernie, and AOC into the pit of flaming lava. Don’t want to miss that!

Trump’s little chat with COVID frontline workers just now, was actually the most human I’ve seen him in a long time. I have to give him his due, he’s good at speaking off the cuff like that. He has a smooth, ingratiating, conversational manner when he wants to. It’s not like he’s made ME feel that he’s any less venal and corrupt, but if the goal was to humanize him to the general public, I think they succeeded with that.
