2021 SDMB Celebrity Death Pool

Cy Chermak, ‘CHiPs’ and ‘Ironside’ Producer, Dies at 91

Yes, I remember. I was wondering if he ignored symptoms thinking they were just “pain” and some illness only to learn too late it was super advanced.

Yep. I actually mentioned it in this thread on the 13th.

Hal Holbrook dead at 95.

Rumors of his death are not so greatly exaggerated?

2021 is gearing up to be another 2016. What’s going on? Why is everybody dropping like flies?

At this rate, it’s gonna be a tight race for “Quantity not Quality”…

Drat! Holbrook should have been on my list of entertainers over 90. I don’t know how I missed him.

Well, I’m surprised. Nobody had Hal Holbrook.

Captain Tom Moore passes away.

Godspeed sir.

I heard about him. What a cool guy, and I’m sorry he’s gone. I think it was fine that QEII knighted him.

I think I listed him in previous years, then forgot to do it this time. Sheesh.

Hal Holbrook would’ve been good in my double-initial Themed list. Darn.

The attendees at his funeral rated the funeral home among the highest in quality, dependability, and performance.

Jamie Tarses, first female TV network executive.

Well played!

Hoopy_Frood you comment was so worthwhile I might steal it and pretend I said it myself.

So, I don’t mean to thread-shit (if that’s even possible in the Death Pool thread) but I was watching NBC Nightly News the other night and before a commercial break Lester Holt teased us with “When we come back, the sudden death of a legendary sit-com star.” And I’m thinking someone of the caliber of, say, Jerry Seinfeld or Ted Danson, and it turns out to be fucking Screech.

We won’t have Eugenio Martinez to kick around any more:

But G. Gordon Liddy is still alive at age 90, alas. (Though he planned and directed the Watergate burglary, he wasn’t actually one of the burglars.)
