Longtime NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer has called his final play at 77.
Many successful yet frustrating seasons with the KC Chiefs. Seems like he frequently got them to the playoffs but couldn’t ever get a win.
As a Chiefs fan, I have many painful memories of Marty’ teams coming up short in the playoffs. The same thing happened to him with the Browns before his time in KC, and with the Chargers after he left KC. In 2006 the Chargers had the best AFC record at 14-2 but lost in the divisional round of the playoffs. He was fired shortly thereafter and never coached again.
