That sucks. I liked their interactions on the show.

I’d forgotten that he got fired months before Letterman’s final show. He pushed a producer up against the wall and yelled at him. I guess it had been building up for a long time.

I didn’t realize his age, either. He was two years older than Dave.

I have been in the same (not all that big) room as Igor V. I went to a few Rochester game group events, and he was there. I never played a game with him though.

Jerry Harkness, who was one of the four Black starters on the 1963 Loyola-Chicago NCAA championship team, dies at age 81.

Earlier in the tournament, Loyola met Mississippi State in the Mideast Regional in East Lansing, Michigan, in what became known as The Game of Change.

Mississippi’s governor, Ross Barnett, filed an injunction to prohibit the team from leaving the state. Bulldogs coach Babe McCarthy had already crossed the border and could not be served. The players all wanted to go, and off they went.

16 months later, the first Black student enrolled at Mississippi State.
