Australian entertainer and TV host Bert Newton has died, aged 83. As a newcomer to Australia myself, I mainly remember him as the jovial host of Good Morning Australia, but he was known for much more than that over the many years he was prominent on TV.

Dr. Aaron Beck, father of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, dead at 100.

Justus Rosenberg, Polish Jew who escaped to Paris during WWII after losing contact with his family following his expulsion from school for being Jewish, and then escaped to Toulouse following the fall of Paris, after which he joined the French resistance and aided in rescuing many other escaping Jews, which he stayed with until swept up in a mass arrest from which he also escaped, only to run into U.S. troops and join the U.S. Army as a reconnaissance scout and translator with his efforts earning him a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, and then following that emigrated to the U.S. where he discovered his parents and sister had survived WWII and went on to become a professor of literature and write a memoir about his experiences has also died at 100.
