As someone who just turned 49 last month, that’s particularly distressing.
I haven’t heard a cause of death yet, but he had a history of being a rock-and-roll drummer. Unless you’ve come down recently with being a rock-and-roll drummer, I wouldn’t worry too much.

He OD’d on heroin over 20 years ago. Reports are saying he complained of chest pains before dying. Not usual for opiate overdose but could indicate cocaine.
Well, CNN has released an initial toxicology report by the Colombian medical examiner. They say that “10 substances were found, including THC, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids.”
So, yeah, starting to look like an accidental overdose.
Apparently they checked urine not blood. No word on any levels. Reports are now saying his heart was twice normal size. It may be more likely death due to years of self-abuse rather than a one time lethal dose.
