I doubt it was dementia, as The Judds had just announced they would be touring this fall.

I wonder what else it could be. Ashley Judd specifically mentioned “mental illness” as the cause.
I’ll be interested in what the toxicology says.
ETA: This article says that she’d battled severe depression. And she had Hep C. I’m inclined to think suicide, but I’m not sure.
I assume suicide, as the news ran an old interview with Naomi mentioning suicide in a discussion of her depression.
I really thought the law of averages were working in his favor:
