I was very aware that JLL was alive, as the last guard of early rock n’ roll. Now with him, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard gone, it is clear that rock music is in deep doo-doo.
Clicking on the TMZ link above tells me that Jerry Lee is ALIVE IN MEMPHIS, and that they were in error.

Michael Kopsa dead at 66
Was just reminded yesterday that Chubby Checker is still going (and only 81 - I thought he’d be older).
Chubby is cool and all, but I can’t put him in the same genre-forming, quintessential category as the three I mentioned. Naturally, there are also-rans of various levels from the '50’s to be found, above ground.
Killer would have brought me points but I am very happy to forego them.
In Fringe, he was the lead bad-Observer in the final season or so. He was great in the part and had a great death from Walter in the show.
