I started to awhile back. I keep my current year, eliminate the dear deceased, and re-examine potentials. I know it’s morbid, but I just kind of do it annually and continually.

I was not expecting that to hurt as much as it did.

John Hadl has dropped back to pass for the last time.

Hadl played for 16 years in the AFL/NFL and never missed a start due to injury.

I was surprised by two things about the McVie news: one, that she was 79 (I thought she was younger); two, that she was the first member of the band to go.

Yeah - You’d think Mic Fleetwood would have bought the farm by now. He did spend a couple of years touring with Spinal Tap.

She’s the first person to die who was a member of the band during their Rumours era. But Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Bob Welch, and Bob Weston had been members of Fleetwood Mac in earlier line-ups and pre-deceased her.

Yeah, I should’ve specified I meant she was the first out of the band’s Rumours lineup.

I don’t think anyone picked Bob Weston in the 2011 or 2012 deathpools. But if they had it might have been tricky.

Weston lived alone and hadn’t been seen for several days. Neighbors alerted the police, who entered Weston’s home and found him dead in bed on January 3, 2012. So it’s not clear if he died in 2011 or 2012.

In checking my list to get ready for the 2023 Dead Pool I find that one of my 2022 picks shuffled off the mortal coil this past Saturday:

George Wilson “Doddie” Weir 7/4/70 - 11/26/22 so he was 52 meaning 48 pts. YAY! er, I mean RIP and condolences to his family.

When something similar happened to a family member, I was told by the mortician that the official time of death is when they are found, police will not try to determine an actual time of death unless foul play is suspected.

Issei Sagawa, “the Kobe Cannibal”, who murdered and devoured a woman basically without consequence, has died.

I remember that story. Unusual and/or brutal deaths are an interest of mine, and while going down a wiki rabbit hole that included Sylvia Likens, I read about Issei Sagawa. It’s kind of a brutal story. I loved reading every word about it. I mean, it sucks for the victim and her family and friends, but it was a good read.
