Looking back this was an overall pretty weak year for movies. Even most of the ones I liked were just pretty good. Here’s my top three for the year.

  1. Godzilla Minus One

  2. Oppenheimer

  3. Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves

I didn’t see every big movie (Barbie for example). The new Spider verse would probably be my number four but even that was good but not great unlike the first one. Same with Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Good but not great.

Highly disagree. There were a lot of excellent films released this year. I don’t care about those CGI-heavy action comic book films. My top ten (so far, I still have a few more to see) are:

  1. Oppenheimer
  2. American Fiction
  3. Anatomy of a Fall
  4. Killers of the Flower Moon
  5. Maestro
  6. Barbie
  7. The Holdovers
  8. Saltburn
  9. Poor Things
  10. John Wick Chapter 4
