2023 SDMB Celebrity Death Pool

I tell you what, the frequency that people within ten years of my current age unexpectedly die is not fun.

That one hurts, to be sure. Between Homicide and B99, he was an absolute screen gem.

This one really hits hard. Don’t think I’ve ever felt this way over a celebrity death, a shock when I saw the headline just now. Not only do I watch B99 clips to perk me up on a nearly daily basis and his Capt Holt character is a large part of that, he was born exactly two weeks before me. And my oldest son’s middle name is Andre.

I haven’t watched much of the show, but all clips I’ve seen indicated he was hilarious. As a teacher, we often think of his quote from the show. We try to do review games and fun activities and I feel like saying:

Seems like I’m the only one who saw and loved Gideon’s Crossing

So I get one round of COVID and associated pulmonary embollisms, am out of commission for all of November and I miss my leap into the top 10!

After all that, be glad you’re not in the top 10 for other reasons. Hope you continue to mend…

Here’s how out-of-touch I am: Since his death, he’s all over the news. I had never heard of him.

I guess he was on nobody’s list

He was 54, according to the article. So much to add, but this is not The Pit.

Dang, that’s some Old Testament shit right there.

Yeah, it seems incredible. I saw it awhile ago. He really looks like those crooked people in the church that God just struck dead. Ananias and Sapphira.

I have wondered how common the name Ananias was. A guy with the same name is the one who took in Saul of Tarsus after he had been blinded on the road to Damascus.

At the risk of suffering the same fate, this made me laugh out loud.

AC/DC drummer is on the Highway to Hell at 23 points.

If you don’t want to click on the link to learn his name and other info, the AC/DC drummer is Colin Burgess. He died at age 77, no cause of death announced at this time.

mmm

Additional information:

Colin Burgess was AC/DC’s original drummer, and left the band in the 70s after he was accused of drinking during a set (a charge he always denied).

A rock drummer fired for drinking on the job?

a 'Strayan drummer, no less

How drunk do you have to be to get kicked out of AC/DC?
